is great for any offline and even some online projects,
but it does not offer SDI video, AES/EBU audio, or
balanced audio. (MAC or PC)

Avid Adrenaline offers much
better audio/video signals than Avid Xpress Pro, including
SDI video and AES/EBU audio. It will play multiple
streams of realtime uncompressed video, but many editors
still feel that its user interface is slower than
Avid Media Composers. (PC Only)

Media Composer
Unless you need multiple realtime streams or an extremely
fast CPU for importing files or burning DVDs, Avid
Media Composer is your solution. It has a faster user
inferface than Avid Adrenaline, and a long record
of proven stability. (MAC or PC)

Symphony
Avid Symphony is the top finishing system, however
if you don't need vector-based color correction, Ultimatte
keying, motion tracking or image stabilization, save
money and rent Avid Media Composer. (PC Only)

This system is capable of SD and
HD finishing and high end graphic design, but can
be very expensive.
